Hi, and welcome to OKAgPolicy!
OKAgPolicy is a new outlet for agricultural policy information in Oklahoma provided by the Oklahoma Farm Bureau.
We’re so glad you’re here!
Agriculture is a staple to Oklahoma’s heritage and identity, but most of our population is at least four to five generations removed from the farm.
Each and every day, Oklahoma family farmers and ranchers work hard to grow the food that ends up on your plate every day. Because farmers and ranchers dedicate their lives to producing food and fiber, you don’t have to worry about your next meal.
Often, it’s difficult and tedious to follow how legislation and regulation affects farmers and ranchers. The goal of OKAgPolicy is to not only share what happens at the Capitol, but also how it affects those who produce our food and fiber.
William Jennings Bryant once said, “Burn down your cities and leave our farms and your cities will spring up again, as if by magic. But destroy our farms and grass will grow in the streets of every city in the country.”
Let’s face it: without food, none of us would be able to live, much less succeed. We want to protect all Oklahomans by protecting those who make sure we have food on our tables each and every day.
Sound exciting? We think so, too.
